9100   1875 - 1889, the 39 star US flag was produced in anticipation of the entry of the Dakota Territory as a single state.  But, the territory was split into North and South and admitted as two states on July 4, 1889 rendering it as an unofficial US flag, superseded by the official 40 star version.  This is an early example of capitalism at its finest.  The flag is printed on cotton, whose canton includes alternating rows of tumbling stars with points up and points down.  Professionally mounted and framed (UV glass, hand stitched acid free mat, spacer between glass and flag, reinforced frame).  Although there is a slight stain at the upper right, it appears to have been stored and unused and remains excellent condition.  Well deserved to be prominently displayed.  Flag size: 33.25”L x 25”W  Frame size: 38”L x 28.5”W   $875.00
