9353   An unusually rare, hollow clay form of an African American free man ca. 1850 with a strong presence of his original paint in yellow, red, black and brown.  Contrary to those times, fortunately and thankfully created was a more distinguished and respectful composition for appreciation.  Until recently, for numerous generations dating from the 19th century he had remained within the same Massachusetts family.   May his destiny be nothing less than preservation…  Size: 15”H x 6”W x 5”D
