9398   A very fine example of a 19th century carved red sandstone recumbent lamb. Marked 1650 perhaps to designate a residential address (maybe a rectory, convent, etc.) or memorial location. The details and scale overall are that of a very adept, skilled hand common to the mourning lambs of the Victorian period. Clearly this piece was well protected and remains in nearly flawless condition. Richly red with some yellow veining, it is fabulous. Size: Overall dimensions are 10.5”L x 3.25”W x 4.5”H
