9309   Originally from a private Midwest collection is a ca. 1900 free-hand painted massive celestial orb.  Solid, sound and decorated with large gilt stars scattered randomly across a ground varying in depths of blue it rests upon a footed pedestal.  Perhaps it served as a theater prop, a fortune teller’s gaff, a ceremonial lodge element or an orb under the foot of a balancing, dapper monkey.  Size: The orb, 14” diameter rests freely on a custom wooden base 9”L x 8.5W x 3.5”H.
