9321   Appalachian with origins to Kentucky a ca. 1930 open sandstone sculpture of a prowling mountain lion.  Extremely well executed both in scale and detail it is a magnificent work from the hands of a true artist yet unidentified.  Likely a piece of salvaged stone from a fireplace or chimney with routine handling it has developed a wonderful patina enhanced by its smooth tactile quality.  From a single mass of stone to a muscular life like form a desirable find as a solitary element or addition to a collection.  Size:  13"L x 4"W x 5"H
